Hi! I’m Tegan.

The most important thing you should know about me is that I love science. It fascinates me, challenges me and it makes me who I am!

I firmly believe that science is for everyone and I’m passionate about exploring different ways of engaging people in science. If you want to know more about me and my science journey, click the button below!

I’m a scientist in training.

If you’re looking for a chatty scientist, you’re in luck!

I can deliver curated talks to your audience on any of the following topics:

  • Environment/climate science - including climate disasters, dust storms, climate change, Earth Observation

  • Using satellites for research

  • Coding

  • Building leadership skills in STEM (I take a non-traditional approach to leadership and focus on how equity can drive our leadership practices)

  • Audience-led Q&A sessions

  • Equity and diversity in STEM

  • University and career pathways

  • Being a woman in STEM from a regional/low-SES background and how I paved my journey

  • Any combination of the above!

  • “Tegan is gifted with the ability to draw a group in, simultaneously engaging her audience whilst ensuring everyone feels comfortable and included. At the Conference she generously shared experience from her studies, her research, and work, and set the tone for two days of questioning, learning, and connection with our 65 attendees. Tegan is an inspirational yet approachable leader with a knack for communication and connection.”

ANU Women* in STEM Leadership Conference

  • Tegan has been an inspirational guest speaker who has led a series of collaborative and engaging online leadership workshops for up to 60 STEM Girl Power student ambassadors and 10 teachers from across Queensland.

Her willingness to lead these online sessions during the end of year virtual Summit has provided students and  teachers with valuable communication, collaboration and critical thinking skills.

Tegan is an outstanding role model and it is my absolute pleasure to recommend her as a Science communicator or guest speaker for future events.”
